We are Waldron Custom Meats. We were founded by John and Rachel Stahl of New Milford, PA. John grew up on a small family ranch where his family raised pigs each year to help sustain the families food supply while Rachel is from the Valley(Archbald) and has always been an active outdoors gal. Rachel also works as a cardio-vascular ICU nurse on her time off from working at the shop in New York. They have 3 children; Michayla, Matthew, and Jack and the beloved Molly the dog.
After breaking ground on this new venture in 2017 we finally opened up in July of 2020. "We sunk a lot of resources into the facility and for a moment i thought it would never end." says John. It was all worth it when we started seeing happy customers and to know we were their to facilitate farm to table style growth. We became officially a USDA establishment in March of 2021 after receiving our grant of inspection from the FSIS in 2020. The USDA presented a whole extra set of requirements and regulations we didn't anticipate, but in the end in order to get meat from local farms to commercial kitchens it was required.
The name "WALDRON" originated and has been traced from a long family lineage dating back to the late 900's in England and Ireland. It was passed down throughout generations and as tradition we gave the name to our son Matthew Waldron Stahl. Matthew unfortunately passed away in October of 2012 unexpectedly at the age of 8 and we thought it fitting to keep his name and personality with us each day. We also developed a 401c3 non-profit "Race Team" to raise money for other local non profits to also aid with keeping his memory alive. We take pride in making sure each animal is given the proper respect and care it deserves from beginning to end. We are a USDA FSIS-HHC (Human Handling Certified) establishment. We supply local establishments and customers with farm raised local beef and pork from our farms to help aid the supply and demands of local retailers. We sell locally raised meats to grocery markets, restaurants, farmers markets and the like.
We vacuum seal and deep freeze all of our products including our ground beef. We use BPA free and USDA/FDA approved vacuum bags. Keeping freshness, color, and taste is incredibly important to us. All of our cuts are processed, bagged, labeled and into the freezer without ever getting above 44.6 degrees. This keeps the meat FRESH and bacteria free.
